Ruffin it.

I've had this painting in my heard for years, at least a vague representation of it. Scattered thumbnails here and there occupying a random sketchbook. Don't know what it is really. The image has just haunted me over the years. Recently I decided to move forward on it. Here is a small gouache sketch of it. I ended up scanning it at 200 % so I can actually see the loose abstract brush work. the current plan is to paint this in oils on a 48" x 60" canvas. Hoping I can retain some of the brushwork and looseness when going to a bigger size. I do want to get more detailed in spots, I will be watchful that I don't kill it in the process.
Also, going to be using a odd palette to slay the beast and them colors include:

Titanium white
Ivory Black
Thalo Blue
Cerulean Blue
Thalo Green
Burnt Umber
Yellow Ochre

I can't wait to see this painting come to life. Hey they look a teeny bit like me. ;)

Nice one Joe. Don't go falling in love with the rough...though it's hard not to do.

If you can do it once, you can surely do it twice. ;)

Dig that next level complexity too.
