Strange but true; I was telling my girlfriend I wanted to paint another skull. 15 minutes later I get a e-mail for a commission for a skull painting. Serendipity at it's finest.

didn't want the feathered top with those fancy brushstrokes.

On the tree
8" x 8"
oil on board

Painted a persimmons tree in the backyard of my girlfriend's mom. They look like peaches here but they are in fact persimmons. This painting will be on display for purchase at the Segil Fine Art 9th Annual small works show, opening on Dec 3

Waves at Playa Del Ray
4" x 4"
gouache on paper

Slept in a bit this morning but managed to get up run some errands and make stop at Playa Del Ray. Also did this gouache sketch all before noon.  I have been thinking about selling my gouache stuff at my DailyPaintworks Gallery but still haven't decided on how much I will charge or if there would be a interest. Guess I will find out as soon as I start posting them.

It seems fitting to have a skull post on October 1st. It is skull month is it not?

Recently I decided to try and paint a small painting everyday and then only post the most fruitful ones to sell. As somewhat of a experiment I am trying auctioning some of these and am giving dailypaintworks a go and see what happens.

I had  to tackle this again but in oils.

Monday, September 12, 2011

I got the perfect seat  at a picnic table and worked on this great little scene. I already want to come back tomorrow at the same time and do it in oil. I was trying some new paper with this as well. I have some canson moonstone paper.

I got sand everywhere while painting this. I was sitting in the sand as apposed to standing. I think I will be cleaning sand out of my paint box and bag for the next 6 months.
