I got sand everywhere while painting this. I was sitting in the sand as apposed to standing. I think I will be cleaning sand out of my paint box and bag for the next 6 months.

Vasquez rocks

I finally went out to paint the Vasquez rocks for the first time. I will be back for more.

It's been a while since I've gone to a drawing session much less go with gouache in hand. Felt rusty this morning but that was overtaken by the sheer joy of just doing it.

This was suppose to be a two session painting but it's looking like the model won't be posing for it at the open session I go to.  I was looking forward to finishing it, oh well at least I got some nice things happening with the start.

I went out to paint the poppy fields for the first time. I was told that it was a rather lame year and there isn't going to be huge fields of orange. I did manage to get this painting done and I look forward to going next year.
